What makes Fabulous Fords Forever a fabulous show for Ford enthusiasts? It is one of the West Coast’s largest Ford car shows, combining thrilling rides at Knott’s Berry Farm with thrilling Ford rides representing a century of vehicle history. This article was guest written by Tom Fong, a Ford enthusiast, to share his experience from the event.
The parking lot at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, is Ford heaven for one weekend every April when 1,700-plus cars of all years and models assemble. These are daily drivers, collector cars and vintage cars in nearly 50 different classes, representing the longevity of Ford production since 1903. You will find something for everyone: 4×4 Broncos, exotic Panteras, stealthy Taurus SHOs and all-American Mustangs!
Celebrities Carroll Shelby, Parnelli Jones and Steve Saleen were happily autographing posters for excited fans. It’s a special moment to have three acclaimed individuals who have made such an immense impact on the automotive performance world sharing the same spotlight. Molly Saleen also attended the show with her one-of-a-kind hot pink Mustang.
The official Ford display gained a lot of attention with a Parnelli Jones meet and greet. Parnelli’s famous No. 15 1970 Trans Am BOSS 302 was the center of attraction, being flanked by interactive booths allowing consumers and kids to play games and learn about Ford products. A dozen product specialists were on hand giving out prizes, t-shirts and information on displayed vehicles – BOSS 302, Focus, Ford Edge, F-150 Harley Davidson, Mustang GT 500 and Taurus SHO – just to name a few.
It was a perfect day to meet Ford special guests, friends and other Ford enthusiasts and to enjoy other people’s cars.
